Shepherds

The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of elder, he desires a noble task.  - 1 Tim 3:1

We are blessed to have such great Shepherds at Childress.  All of these men and their families serve the Kingdom of God faithfully and selflessly. Combined they have over 100 years of wisdom and spiritual guidance to offer.  They are well respected in the community and are invaluable to the work of spreading the good news both in Childress and the surrounding communities.

Craig and Lisa Darter
Craig and Lisa have been married 37 years.  They have 4 children.  Craig has served on the eldership since 2010.  Craig runs a successful medical practice in Childress. 
Dee and Susan Green
Dee and Susan Green have been married for 52 years.  Dee has served on the eldership since 2001.  Dee served our community as a family doctor and Susan was in education. Both are now retired and enjoying more time with grandkids. 
Mike and Sue Henderson
Mike has been serving on the eldership since 2001. Mike has Sue have been married for 56 years and they have 4 sons.  They will also tell you they have 5 granddaughters and 4 grandsons.  Mike was family doctor until his retirement.  Mike serves as our elder over our mission efforts.

Taylor and Marilyn Johnson
Taylor and Marilyn have been married for 58 years! Taylor has served as an elder for 25 of those years.  They have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. Taylor helps oversee our prison ministry and our church fellowship. 
Brian and Shelly Pierce
Brian and Shelly Pierce have been married for 20 years.  They have 3 children, and Brian has served as an elder since 2019. After growing up in Childress, Brian returned after college and runs his own engineering company.  Brian serves our community well and helps oversee our church's finances.  
Eric and Amber Green
Eric has been serving on the eldership since 2019.  Amber and Eric have been married for 21 years and have 3 kids. Both Eric and Amber grew up in Childress.  Eric runs his own dental practice, and Amber is on the church staff.  Eric servers as our elder over Worship.
